Well, the hospital bag is 99% packed. The carseats (and mirrors!) installed. Cribs made and ready to receive children. Cradle ready & waiting. Changing table...eh, not quite ready but nearly. We have everything we MUST have. So are we ready for these babies?? Read more...Collapse )

Off to bed now to try & sleep. I'll take ANY and ALL labor vibes you can send to me... :)

Last night was the WORST night of sleep I've had yet. I can't EVEN begin to decribe how much my groin muscles hurt!!! Righty espeically, but now lefty is catching up and that makes it darn near impossible to get to the bathroom when one needs it.

As such, I'm truly cranktastic today. We're supposed to go to a 4th of July party at a fellow HBS'ers house, and I. Don't. Want. To. I do want to see our friends, but it's not just a party for HBS'ers, there will be lots of other people there, and likely not much sitting for one who is 36w3d pregnant with twins. First Todd was talking about going just for an hour, and now he's saying two.

I may have to send him on his own; I just don't know if I can do it.

I did get lots done in the nursery yesterday. Baby Boy's crib is 100% ready for him (including mobile up, mattress pad on, and bumpers tied!). Of course, the cat promptly slept in it last night when she got tired of my tossing & turning.

Must go find food.

Got up this morning & went to BRU with mom to get the last of the stuff that we need before the babies' arrival. Things like the 2nd bouncer, mobiles for the cribs, and all that little nick-nacky stuff like fingernail clippers, nail files, medicine droppers, etc. Spent more than I thought it would cost (espeically when mom picked up 1/2 the tab!), but I think we're pretty much set. Need to hit Target to pick up a few things for the hospital bag, but if we don't make it, its not the end of the world.

Came home & was THOROUGHLY exhausted; I ended up taking a ~3ish hour nap in the recliner. Good thing as it probably saved my cankles from being watermelons tonight. Of course, I was absolutely starving when I woke up (like shaking hungry), but a yummy tuna fish sandwich & two big glasses of milk later, I feel GREAT. Read more...Collapse )

And that's my biggest fear about the babies' arrival.

Waking up to the news that Sandra Day O'Connor has retired is NOT the way I wanted to wake up, nor start the month of July.

BOO HISS in the very biggest way.

I've been thinking about this for quite some time.

After the birth of my twins, this journal will become FRIENDS ONLY.

I will post a birth announcement, and perhaps one picture of the babies, and anything more than that will be behind locked posts.

I'm just too leery of posting pictures of my children to the wide open internet for all to see. I'd like a bit more privacy, thankyouvery much.

As such, I am considering downsizing on my friends list a bit. I haven't made any decisions yet, but I may decide to scale back and be a little more private.

Thanks for understanding.

1) Am I just doomed to feel like AF is *JUST* about to start until I deliver?? Seriously, the cramps, the "flow" is about to start any second -- it's sucktastic.

2) My husband's shirts are long enough so I can wear the panel pants!!! I have a whole new wardrobe!!!

There are SO MANY good musicians in town this summer! My favorite concerts are the ones at The Pier (which I guess are actually held at S. Lake Union now?) and those out at Ste. Michelle Winery.

This year, Lyle Lovett, Buddy Guy, Chris Isaak, & the Indigo Girls (!) are all at the Pier/Lake Union concerts. And Mark Knopfler (!), Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Steve Miller are all out at the Winery!

GAH!! I want to go to all of them!!! Lyle Lovett is tonight...I wonder if I can convince my husband to be spontaneous and go with me. :)

At least I get to go see Dave at the Gorge. :)

Had the 2nd NST this week. Everything is fine (as in they didn't admit me or anything). Babies look great on the monitors, with appropriate accelerations/decelerations. I'm contracting, but nothing regular or enough to warrant sending me to L&D.

But the offical watch has begun. I'm definitely contracting more than I was a week ago, and daaaaaayum am I uncomfortable. The babies have definitely dropped (baby boy's heartbeat is now found about six inches lower than it was on Monday).

11 days until cerclage removal.

NST & OB appointment next Wednesday, then NST on Friday.

I'm in a weird state where I feel half relieved that everything was OK today, and half disappointed. I am READY. I keep hoping contractions will get regular, or I'll lose my plug, or have some show or something. Alas, there's nothing.

At least I know I have no more than three weeks from today. Three. Long. Weeks.

Just a quick drive by -- it's too hot to post details. :)

Cerclage removal is scheduled for July 5. I'll be 36w5d, and will be monitored for labor after the removal.

After that, we'll wait & see if I go into labor on my own. If not, we'll revisit/discuss the amnio/c-section/induction discussion.

I've started having irregular contractions on the NST monitors, so I'd say there's at least a decent chance I could go into labor after the cerclage removal.

Going now to watch Todd vacuum with our New Dyson!!!!!

So Todd is so worried about me not being at his work shower that he had them change the time so I could go.

And then he suggested I get a hair cut before then. Who the hell does he think he is??

(I'm actually not at all upset about this, I find it very amusing!)

Starbucks is having a shower for TOdd & I, which is awesome! Unfortunately, they've scheduled it for Monday when I'll be at the doctor! :(

I don't *have* to be there, but I think he feels weird accepting "baby gifts" himself.

Oh well!

I'm sending Toddy to the store to pick up stuff to make guacamole. I'm dying for some!!

It's just not nice to watch Food Network when one has just moved into a house, there is no food in said house, and one is too pregnant to go grocery shopping. I swear, I was dying for guacamole (30 minute meals) then gaspacho (food 911) then tuna fish (Sara's Secrets) all this afternoon.

I'm looking into ordering groceries from safeway.com (they deliver now apparently!) and reading the recipe section just made me more hungry!!
